Pastor Mario and Renata Gomes

Mario and Renata Gomes were born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They are physicians, married for 17 years and have two boys. Both received Christ in their childhood and have been involved in leadership work in their churches since an early age. Responding to a special call from God, they moved to the United States in 2004 and were members of Saddleback Church, California. At Saddleback they have been trained for local and global Missions, Small Groups leadership and Discipleship. They started the first Portuguese speaking small group at Saddleback. They also have participated in outreach events in Southern California as well as medical missions in Nigeria, Africa.

In 2007 they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. At that time, the Lord confirmed in their hearts the dream of reaching and edifying lives (to build lives), based on Isaiah 61:1-3: " Because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good news...so they will be called oaks of righteousness." They founded MDN and started to develop the Building Up discipleship curriculum, aiming to build lives all over the world.

As members of Evergreen Baptist Church in Tulsa, they led a pilot project of Building Up curriculum. In January of 2009 Mario was ordained to the pastoral ministry and served as an Assistant Pastor at Evergreen.

Currently they live in Brazil and their current focus is to develop partnerships with local churches in South America, offering tools for Discipleship and Evangelism through MDN. They are attending New Baptist Church of Paraná, located in the city of Cascavel, state of Paraná, Brazil.
